The Future of Travel:
ETIAS Guidelines for UK Holidaymakers

Stay informed as changes are on the horizon for European holidays starting in 2025. UK holidaymakers planning trips to popular destinations such as Spain and Italy will be required to apply for an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) visa waiver. This new system is designed to enhance security checks for travelers not in need of full visas, ensuring safer and more efficient travel.

Passport SLA

The ETIAS, given the green light by the European Commission in 2016, provides UK citizens the opportunity to explore 27 Schengen countries seamlessly, eliminating the need for traditional passports or border controls. These countries include 23 EU nations and four non-EU nations: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland. The application process is swift, taking less than 10 minutes to complete online, with a cost of approximately £6.

Effective planning is crucial. An approved ETIAS allows for a stay of up to 90 days within a 180-day period, remaining valid for three years or until the passport expires. It’s important to note that the ETIAS does not authorize long-term work or study; a separate Schengen visa is required for such activities.

To ensure seamless travels, UK holidaymakers are encouraged to apply for their ETIAS well in advance. Stay tuned for updates as these changes unfold. Navigating these adjustments together, we can stay ahead of the curve and make the most out of our European adventures. #TravelNews #ETIAS #EuropeTravel
